August 2026 Feature Updates: More Precise Labeling, Smarter Workflows, and Greater Control
This month's updates make labeling more precise, project setup more flexible, and everyday workflows more predictable. Data Studio adds new capabilities for Bounding Box, audio, metadata, and Labeling Agent projects, while LLM Labs gives you greater control over storage synchronization and vector store metadata.
Data Studio
Labeling Agent: Configure Agents for Ongoing Projects
Reviewers can now assign and configure Labeling Agents directly from the Assignment tab in Project Settings, making it easier to manage assistance for projects that are already underway without the need to start it from scratch.

Bounding Box Labeling: Bring In Your Own Custom Format with Import File Transformers
Bounding Box projects now support Import File Transformers, so you can write a custom script to convert annotations from any custom format you have into Datasaur, instead of being limited to our natively supported import formats.
Loop an Audio Segment Instead of Scrubbing Back Manually
Audio segments can now be played on loop, so you can repeatedly review or validate a specific part of a recording without manually rewinding each time.

Metadata Extension: Keep Your Most-Used Fields Pinned, Every Time
Pinned metadata preferences are now saved per person, so each team member's most relevant fields stay pinned and easy to find, no need to redo it every time you open a project.

Audio Labeling: Snap Audio Segments into Place with Greater Precision
Snap-to-grid now helps you place audio segments accurately on the timeline, so you can avoid gaps and overlaps when marking audio.

LLM Labs
External Object Storage Sync: Change Schedules Without Triggering an Immediate Resync
Editing an External Object Storage sync schedule now changes only the schedule itself. Documents will sync at the next scheduled run, giving you more control and preventing unexpected document changes when adjusting timing.

Vector Store API: Add Metadata When You Add Documents
The updateLlmVectorStoreAsync API now accepts metadata for each document, allowing you to set file properties as documents are added to a vector store instead of making a separate follow-up request.
We're continuing to build on your feedback, so keep it coming. More updates are on the way next month.
