Datasaur acquires Konvergen AI
We’re thrilled to announce that Datasaur has acquired Konvergen AI, an industry-leading OCR technology startup from Indonesia. The two companies have collaborated on multiple projects throughout the years and Datasaur has integrated Konvergen AI’s tech for its notable capabilities in handwriting recognition, government ID field extraction, and intelligent document processing.
In November, Datasaur announced our expansion beyond text annotation into audio transcription and annotation. We consider audio a “text-adjacent” field — any customer uploading and transcribing audio will proceed to perform the same NLP labeling we have supported since our start. In the same fashion, we are excited to expand our capabilities into the OCR field, supporting images and PDFs containing text. We have seen users upload documents, apply OCR to capture the relevant text, then annotate the output. By acquiring Konvergen, we solidify our position as the industry’s premier NLP labeling solution.
I have known Konvergen AI’s founders Lintang Sutawika and Timotius “Devin” Devin since Datasaur’s inception. Through our partnerships we have developed a close relationship and share similar outlooks on the future of the AI industry. Furthermore, I know they have developed a strong team with close cultural values to our own, and I could not imagine a better way to grow our team and accelerate our collective growth.
We look forward to this integration and further serving the development of NLP, in any format!
